Whether your idea of camping is to pull up to a hook-up in your RV or to drop your pack by the side of the trail and pitch a tent, Wind River Country has something for everyone.
Full-service commercial campgrounds are located in all of Wind River Country’s gateway communities. These campgrounds offer showers, shade, hookups, and often snack bars or convenience stores to meet all your traveling needs. And unlike our more crowded neighbors over the Continental Divide near Jackson and Yellowstone, things move a little more slowly in Wind River Country, allowing your campground hosts time to chat about things to do and places to go during your stay. So come enjoy some comfortable camping and good old western hospitality in Wind River Country. Who knows, you may opt to stay longer than you thought.

For those who prefer a less-developed camping experience, the options are endless. Lander City Park offers free overnight camping under the shade of the cottonwood trees and within easy walking distance of downtown, while the National Forests, State Parks and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands around Wind River Country have everything from fee campgrounds where facilities and water are provided to primitive, free camping options. If you have any questions about where to camp, stop by the federal land management offices in Lander or drop by one of the local sporting goods stores.
